Krabi is the principle town in the region of Krabi on the west shoreline of southern Thailand at the mouth of the Krabi River where it purges in Phang Nga Bay. Starting at 2010 the town had a populace of 52,867. The town is the capital of Krabi Province and Krabi District. Tourism is an imperative industry. Krabi is 783 km or 486 miles south of Bangkok by street.
