Welcome to the 10th post of exploring beautiful cities, roads, and places of Pakistan. “Steemit” is proving itself as the best platform for my purpose of showing the world the real beauty of my beloved Pakistan and sharing the experience with you.
The RCD Highway (Regional Cooperation for Development Highway) now called N-25 or National Highway 25 is an 813 km national highway in Pakistan passing through Karachi, Bela, Khuzdar, Kalat, Quetta and Chaman and continuing into Afghanistan.
First constructed under a treaty between Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey during the regime of Sardar Attaullah Mengal as Chief Minister of Balochistan province. Pakistan and United States signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of N-25 highway connecting Chaman to Kalat through Quetta. The NHA is responsible for all construction work as per NHA-Specifications.
U.S Ambassador said during the inauguration.
"The United States is very proud to partner with Pakistan in rebuilding essential infrastructure. This highway will become part of the growing legacy of partnership between our two nations, as it will serve the people of Pakistan for generations to come."
The upgradation and reconstruction of this highway will definitely restore trades between Afghanistan and the Central Asia and will create a link between Balochistan province and rest of the Pakistan including Karachi. I want to share some pictures which were captured with DSLR(Canon 60d) while traveling.
