Today we took a hike around "Jakobus Weg" (Jacobus trail). It's a 10km long round way around the village of Turnau in Austria, Steiermark (Styria). The Church in the center of the village is named Jakobus and gives the name to the way. Basically the trail is an aggregation of a few walk and hiking trails. It not that demanding, but good shoes are a must, no matter the weather conditions.
The way is mostly along forest roads but on some passages you can choose to take a side path
The view towards the valley Turnau is in, looking direction north west
and a view from the other side of the trail, where the above picture was taken at
Along the way is a view point with a map of the surrounding mountain tops,
and this cute place
Mountain top to the center of the heart, is the Zöberer Höhe. A special place to me. It was my grandfather's favorite mountain (we hiked it quite times), and he also died there in his favorite place.
The trail ends at the Jakobus church
Wish you all a healthy and great new year!
