The Schuerman family had an 80 acre homestead right here in front of this magnificent rock formation Cathedral Rock back in 1941. The government was selling off land in the west as homesteads to help pay the war deficit. That would be world war two. I think the price was a dollar an acre, so it looks like $80 took care of it. What an amazing property in Sedona Arizona for peanuts. I guess you could say "right place right time".
