Pets can have the same health issues as humans, and most of them could be easily avoidable, or more easily managed, if caught on time: thats why annual vet visits are so important. An annual visit should include touch weight control and nutrition, as well as the more obvious dental exam, recommended vaccinations, parasite control and health screenings. Obesity is in in fact a growing issue with our pets, since their diet reflect more and more..well ours, which is not the healthiest most of the times, lets admit it lol.
So, a regular check up for our most loyal friends and more jogging and a healthier diet for them and us 
as well ;)
