Dailyhodl, citing an article from The Bangkok Post, reported that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) plans to apply for a digital asset operating license from the country’s Finance Ministry for the purpose of setting up a crypto exchange within this year.
The vice chairwoman of SET’s board of governors, Pattera Dilokrungthirapop, said:
"Securities firms are currently waiting for the SET to apply for a license. For us, digital assets are expected to grow in the future as investors gain more understanding of this asset class."
According to Dailyhodl, the Finance Ministry issued digital asset operating licenses to four companies- Bitcoin Exchange, Bitkub Online, Satang Corporation (Satang Pro) and Coins TH Co- last week.
