Osteoporosis is a disease that causes your bones to become weak and fragile. This occurs when bone tissue damage occurs more rapidly than the production of new bone cells. Most people do not know that they have osteoporosis until they realize the height loss or until their bones are broken.

In the early stages, you may not know if you have osteoporosis because there are no physical signs of the condition. But once the bones become weak, you may notice:

• back pain, caused by a fractured spine

• reduced height from time to time

• bent posture

• the occurrence of a fracture and even a result of a small collision

People with risk factors are more likely to have osteoporosis. There are uncontrollable factors and factors that you can control.

Taking good precautions can reduce your risk of osteoporosis and avoid developing your condition to advanced if you already have it.
