Consequences of obesity in hamsters
The first thing you should know is that being overweight can have serious consequences in hamsters. In fact, this pathology is often accompanied by liver diseases, diabetes and other problems that shorten your life. Adequate nutrition
Fortunately, avoiding obesity in hamsters is quite simple, since this disease is usually caused by inadequate feeding. Thus, we recommend that you provide your pet with a correct diet, without forgetting that these animals are omnivores. Thus, although you must offer seeds, fruits and vegetables, you must also include animal protein in your diet, in addition to hay. According to experts, 50% of a hamster's diet should be high-end or home-prepared food, 45% vegetables and 5% low-calorie fruit.

Exercise
Of course, so that your hamster is not overweight it is important that you exercise. For this, you only have to provide the necessary tools. Of course, the most important thing is that your pet has a wheel in its cage. In the market you will also find balls and other toys designed for hamsters. On the other hand, it's a good idea to let them loose at home so they can run.
