The Tokay Gekko Thailand

A few nights ago i kept hearing a very unusual sound outside my hotel room door which i thought may have been a type of frog i had never heard before .
It sounded like this .

The next day i asked one of the staff and she said it was a gekko . Now being from Australia i have seen plenty of gekkos and i assumed that this was a similar size.
It turned out to be a Tokay gekko and i was quite surprised to see that it was nearly a foot or 30 cm long.
Here are a couple of photos i got of him the next day when it was light .

After reading a few facts it turns out these guy's can live up to ten years and can have a bit of a temper. Apparently they lock on when they bite and the best thing to do is submerge it in water or dab vinegar on its nose until they let go .

Thanks for reading my post.
