Pacific Northwest Adventures : Part 1 🎥

Each month, my friends and I decide on a new challenge to face that month.  The challenge can involve diet, fitness, or trying new things.  We hold each other accountable, checking in and providing the extra motivation to finish the challenge.  Inspired by the slowly warming pacific northwest, this month's challenge is to explore the amazing trails that we have in our own backyard.  Each week we're conquering a new mountain and taking you along the way!

We started our first two trips off easy with Little Si (pronounced sigh) and Franklin Falls.

  • Little Si is a 4.7 mi (7.6 km) round trip hike with 1,300 feet (396 m) elevation gain.
  • Franklin Falls is a 2 mi (3.2 km) round trip hike with 400 ft (121 m) elevation gain.

A bit of bad Karma
Sadly, we experienced a casualty on our trip.  While flying our drone, Icarus, through the forest lined streets, the drone swerved off and crashed into the trees.  Ouch! 💥  Luckily it landed in the brush with only some broken propellers.  I'm just grateful that it didn't crash on any of the previous flights while flying over rapids or off cliffs 😅

On the drive home we stopped at a restaurant called "XXX", named for the XXXL burgers and root beer floats (if you didn't come here for burgers you may be disappointed).  The burgers are the size of your head!  Each one had 4 regular sized burger patties in it.  Needless to say, we gained all of the calories back from our hike :)

Thanks for following! Now get out there and enjoy the sun Steemit!
