#726 - Insects of Laguna.

Happy Christmas day to everyone who celebrates it and happy holidays to all as well. It's a tiring day for me because after work last night just about 4hours of sleep my wife woke me up in the morning. She wanted to go out since it's Christmas and she wants to visit the Manila cathedral together with my mother and sister in law and my son. So after having a light breakfast we went there and arrived at twelve noon. We did some picture taking and stroll inside the walled city and then we also dropped by at the China Town which is found on the other side of the river. That's where we had lunch at alost two in the afternoon because we had to look for eateries that are open because most are closed during this holiday. Then we went to another church also after eating lunch then went straight to my mother-in-law sister to also visit them. We left there at six in the evening and then arrived home at eight and that is where I have one hour to prepare this post.

Moving on to our daily shots we have here macro shots taken in one of the remote village of Laguna where Hulugan falls is located. These first three sets shows several tiny young green grasshoppers. They all seem to be left there on the leaves of the weeds to fend for themselves. The mother grasshopper was nowhere to be found even in the nearby weeds. So it seems it is in nature that once they can able to eat green leaves they are left alone by their mother. There could still be other insects that could prey on them but staying as a group minimize the threat a d maximum their chances of survival.

Here we also have a long legged skinny spider with a nice color combinations of black and orange. On its back is also an outstanding mark which could be intimidating to other insects.

Then we have here an orange tiny tortoise beetle that has been exploring the leaf for quite some time already. If you look closer it looks like it has a poker face in it 😆.

Then lastly is this large forest cockroach that is also brown in color. It was a bit wet because of the moisture coming from the forest plus there was a rain also last night when we went here so it could have added the wet appearance of the insect.
