#574 - Batad rice terraces shots for today.
A pleasant Tuesday evening fellow Hivers. The weather here throughout the day was still gloomy and full of clouds. The sun may have not come out but the warmth is still being felt all day long. Yesterday afternoon after I finished my shift around three I went to the river side and run for atleast five kilometers of distance before going home and then on the way, I went first to make a stop at the market to buy a tray of egg which we need for the next few weeks.
For our photos today, let me share shots when we were in Batad and here is the first one. We got here hoping that it will be before the harvest or while the crops are in in their prime but when we arrived, the planting season is not yet started and the harvest was done months back. The fields are just empty of crops and just waiting for the start of the planting season which is during the summer according to the guide.
We can see a closer look of the empty fields and they are filled with water. There are also other plants like string beans along the dikes of the farms, the beans are also source of viands for the locals.

A beautiful view of the fields down below. The shot also feature a number of houses in the green mountain. We will be heading there too when we will go to the Tapiya falls. That house under construction is the access point to the falls, there is a stair path behind the house.
Another angle of the house which will lead us later to Tapiya falls. We were standing in the mountain side which is the source of water to all the rice fields below.
A wider view of the surrounding area which include most of the rice terraces except the one below us. The houses here are now evolving, transition to the use of metal, galvanized roof and cement.
