This video is a new version (to me) of a song I've loved for years.
Van Ronk's mixture of sensitivity and strength is phenomenal.
I had the urge to watch the trailer(s) for Inside Llewyn Davis tonight.

I love this film. It's loosely based on or inspired by or something on Dave Van Ronk. (Image search "Inside Dave Van Ronk" and compare to Llewyn's album). Perhaps it's partly this that brings an odd hope to me at the conclusion of the film, one that chronicles the hard early days of a folk singer.
"David Kenneth Ritz Van Ronk (June 30, 1936 – February 10, 2002) was an American folk singer. An important figure in the American folk music revival and New York City's Greenwich Village scene in the 1960s, he was nicknamed the "Mayor of MacDougal Street".[1]" ( source )
