The Adventures of Munzee

I began this journey into the Steemit universe this morning after an invite by my brother @daddykirbs. My goal is to spread the joy of Munzee and Geocaching. Geolocation games are a great way of getting out into God's creation and finding adventure in small and big ways. Munzee is a geolocation game based on vinyl QR code stickers. These stickers can be stuck anywhere. I have placed them on the back of signs, on green electric boxes, on lamp skirts in parking lots, and many other places. Munzees can be virtual as well. The virtual types can be placed anywhere in the world by using the Munzee map on the website. The virtual side of munzee allows a person to learn about places to which a person may never travel. I had never heard of Paderborn, Germany until I began to Munzee. I have placed virtual munzees all over the world. This is another great facet of Munzee. They can be found everywhere. If you can get there by plane, boat, or car you likely find Munzees there. Disneyland, Angel Stadium, Disneyworld, and other locations are literally packed with virtual munzees. If you enjoy scavenger hunts, then you will enjoy Munzee.

Munzees come in many different forms such as POI (places of interest), generics (plain), Shamrocks, Seasonals (Winter, Fall, Spring, and Summer), evolution (these evolve from a basic form to an advanced form), Jewels, Nomads, Mythological (leprechauns, unicorns, dragons, Pegasus, Sasquatch, and Yetis), flat Robs (founder of Munzee), and many other types. Each type is worth a different amount of points. There are also different challenges in the game such as clan wars and Zeeops. Clan Wars requires a player to join a clan to work with 9 other people from across the globe to achieve different levels and earn rewards for each level. I am in Munzee Madness 2 clan and we have reached level 2 this month. We begin a new clan war on February 3. Each month has different goals for the clan wars with different reward possibilities. Zeeops is similar but different. Zeeops can be different lengths of time such as 3, 7, 10, or 14 days. Difficulties of the ops correlate to the length of time. Each month there are different challenges in the Zeeops. If you succeed in the operations, you earn rewards. I have only done the 3-day ops. You can do several of these ops each month. As you can see Munzee is a multi-faceted game. Every player plays differently.

I was able to Munzee a little today. Here is my tally for this day. I earned 523 points. 280 points were from 11 captures. These 11 captures were from a resort munzee, a university POI, a surprise munzee, a leprechaun munzee, and a pegasus. 55 points came from 3 deployments including a resort munzee and 2 surprise munzees. 188 points were from 10 captures of my munzees from other players. These munzees were virtuals from Tampa Bay, the National Mall in Washington DC, Auburndale, Florida, Brandon, Florida, North Port, Florida, and in Greensburg, PA.

This is a great game that can be shared by the entire family. Thanks for reading my post.
