Where is the "Introduce Myself" link? Saw it, lost it - here, meet Winslow Wixin instead....

Art is math. Everything is math! Take a pencil, draw a line, curved so many degrees... to have the drawing look like someone specific, the curvature has to be SO EXACT - so precise, so mathematical - yet the artist intuitively gets it. Well, Tim does. On the right, his 60-second sketch. On the left, my tenth attempt.

My husband (the "right" artist) is an electrical engineer. Both sides of the brain (right/left) work together. Me, the two sides are avoiding each other like an unhappily married couple. As #4 of five sisters, I was dropped on my head too often. The world wasn't ready for my genius to be realized. Thank you, sisters 1, 2, and 3 - you saved the world!

Meanwhile, artists among us, I welcome you to the challenge: one simple curved line, capturing the plump baby profile. Challenge #2: Capture that wide-eyed stare of his, taking in all that he sees. It's just an oval, filled in with #2 pencil. That's it! Easy, right? Right??? Well, Matisse made it look so simple... I'll bet Matisse was a math genius.

Eventually, I'll get around to introducing myself.
