My day started in a rush. I had a bride to attend to, and I needed to be at the hotel early to get her ready for her wedding.
I woke up at 4:45 a.m., got dressed, and was ready by 5:00 a.m. However, it was still quite dark outside, so I waited until 5:25 a.m. before leaving home.
I arrived at the hotel by 6:15 a.m. and met the hairstylist already working on the bride's hair. While she handled the hair, I focused on the bridal train and successfully completed makeup for all six bridesmaids.
By 10:30 a.m., I was done and started packing up.
That's when it hit meβI hadn't taken a single picture of my work! I had been so focused on the job and working against time that documenting the process completely slipped my mind.
I stood for almost five straight hours without sitting down. Surprisingly, I didn't feel the strain until the work was finished. That's when the tiredness and body aches decided to show up.
I got home and immediately got dressed for service by 1:35pm. Sitting there, I could feel my bones crying in pains, I was feeling sleepy, feeling so tired and just be present based on determination.
Still, as exhausting as it was, I'm grateful. It was a productive weekend, a successful job.
And a reminder that sometimes we can be so busy that we forget to capture the moment.
