Neurological Carbohydrate Craving

Japan’s National Institute for Physiological science release a study showing that an isolated neuron is responsible for our carbs craving. Researchers studied rodents and found that under social stress increased there appetite for carbohydrates. They were able to demonstrate this activation would caused a three times spike in craving.The brain plays a significant role in choosing carbohydrate or fats.

The goal was to shift humans craving from unhealthy food, usually people eat based on taste and nutritional state of the body but, the mechanism process remains a mystery until now. Researchers were able to isolate one single neuron that could trigger these craving, opening the door for a better understanding.
