Discovering The Grand Canyon National Park In Arizona USA

Grand Canyon National Park

Gazing into this unique display of geologic and erosional color combinations is over whelming to the mind. This stunning canyon is 277 river miles long. In some places it is almost 18 miles wide. The immensity of this canyon, that is also 1 mile deep, is almost more than the mind can grasp.

Another View Of The Canyon Early In The Morning

As you travel to the different rims and viewing points, you will find that the canyon changes immensely. While most of the canyon shows off the many layers of rock formation that have formed through the centuries, here you see a whole different side to the canyon. This view point shows the sheer sides of the canyon that are made up of huge rocks that have formed a steep edge with a plateau at the top.

Interesting Rock Formations Fill The Canyon

At this location, the unique and one of a kind rock formations  are everywhere. Each one is a different color tone and extremely unique from the one next one.

This is an exciting opportunity where you can explore, take the train, ride the burros down to the bottom, or if you desire, it is a nice hike. There are many tours and the river trip is amazing. If you desire, there are plenty of places to camp, and if you have a permit, there is lots of back country camping.
