Last weekend we finally went on our Malibu Wine Safari adventure. The drive from San Diego was long and the LA traffic was a nightmare but the the tour and meeting Stanley the giraffe made it all worth it. You get to explore the 1,000 acre Saddle Rock Ranch and vineyard in a custom-built open-air Safari vehicle. The guide and driver team love to share some fun facts about the history of the vineyard, wines and animals which makes the experience super fun. If you're an animal lover you'll get to feed chopped carrots and lettuce to alpacas, zebras, donkeys and of course you'll get to meet and feed Stanley the giraffe. He's definitely the star of the show and he knows it. He's the sweetest, most loving creature and he's also a Hollywood superstar as he was featured in Hangover 3. He loves taking pictures (as long as you keep feeding him the lettuce:) There's also something for the wine lovers. You'll make stops along the way to take in the beautiful scenery and taste wines. Both white and red wines were delicious. I think my two favorite were NV Saddlerock Sparkling Rosé and Kendrick Llama, 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon . The whole experience is well worth it. Let's be honest, you get to relax, enjoy the scenery, drink wine and take selfies with the giraffe. It sounds pretty cool to me. They also have Airbnb on the property that sleeps 10 people, 5 wedding venues and Saddle Rock Ranch hosts dinners where you get to pick your vegetables from the local garden and some famous chef from downtown LA will cook it for you, as you drink the wine and watch the sunset.
