Yup, it was my birthday today. I was lucky enough to play golf with my dad this morning, had a nice lunch with my family, geeked out with some computer rigging in the office, ate some cake, and now I'm catching up on the happenings here.
The cake looks tiny, but it actually served a couple huge slices. Everybody had different flavors in mind, so @edjag smartly grabbed a variety of cupcakes to keep everyone satisfied.
Golf was extra special because:
- It's still winter, and I live where I can play year-round
- It was supposed to rain all day, and it didn't
- We saw an alligator out and about (although the picture didn't turn out well because he was in the water)
- It was serene; there weren't many people out and the wildlife were active
My oldest daughter was super sweet; she bought a gift with her own money and couldn't wait to give it to me. Both girls spent time hand-drawing cards. The six year old wrapped two peppermint candies in a paper towel :D
I'd say I'm a pretty lucky guy! Thanks, wife, for making it another special memory.
