Hello Friends!
Today we are talking about fantastic dishes that can be made with leftovers. Especially ones that are unexpected! Join the conversation below!
I made delicious pot roast and gravy the other night. I also had unused baked potatoes lying around. Not many know that refrigerated baked potatoes make easy, fast cheater fries! You can pan fry them in a small amount of oil, just enough to lightly cover your pan, and they come out crispy and delicious.
I peeled mine first and then thinly sliced them and cut those skinny fries in half. You really need cold potatoes for this to work. I added some salt after a few of the sides of the fries were crispy.
I then just heated up some pot roast with gravy in the microwave.
I had no cheese curds. Block cheese would have also been better as you can cut that into chucks. Shredded cheddar worked fine though.
I added a fried egg because why not!
I enjoyed this with without a condiment, but creamy horseradish would go very well, as would your favorite hot sauce.
Poutine is traditionally made with fries, cheese curds, and chicken gravy, but it is a dish meant to be experimented with.
Don't make fun of the photo, as it is the best I can do right now:
