The Las Vegas Strip: How to have fun by just exploring the Casinos!

After a few weeks of not doing anything (and it was killing me!), it finally came to the weekend of the big Las Vegas strip! As you know, you can find a hell of a deal on any travel site to go visit there and stay for only a few hundred dollars per person. I took advantage of it, with no plan in mind this time to see any sites, or see any shows. The whole goal to going on this trip was just to explore and see what I could find. Here is a picture Montage of my exploration of the Las Vegas Strip.

We started our trip out by flying Spirit Airlines from Portland International to McCarran International Airport in to Las Vegas. We took an afternoon flight to make sure that we didn’t arrive too early and have to wait around with our baggage in order to check into the casino. The casino we chose to stay at this time was The Rio. It isn’t exactly on the strip, but it’s it’s right behind Caesars Palace, with a shuttle that takes you from that casino over to Harrah’s Casino (which I understand is stopping this month).

Upon checking into the hotel they have these fancy little machines that will check you in instead of having to wait to meet someone at the counter. Of course I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity as I had never used one of these machines before, and they truly did look like they were cool! Unfortunately, I think they are designed to give you the crappy rooms first. I was given a fourth-floor non-smoking room that probably wasn't going to have the best for you, but I just went with it because I was so excited to be on vacation. I went up to the room and you could clearly tell that it was not a no smoking room. So back down to the front desk I had to go. The second time around I was given a 14th floor room, which proved to have a much better View and did not smell like an ashtray.

After getting settled in the room we decided to take the free shuttle over to the Harrah's Hotel and Casino to start hour exploration of the Las Vegas Strip. After arriving at the Harrah's Hotel and Casino, we crossed Las Vegas Boulevard and headed over to Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. We decided this would be the perfect hotel to start off the trip. We walked into the Forum Shops and went on a search for something to eat. We found a small bar and pub off of The Forum Shops that had a burger and beer deal for $9.99 that we could not say no to. After finishing up dinner, we decided to go look for the fall of Atlantis show and also check out the aquarium that has stingrays, an experience that you must check out if you are here in Las Vegas.

The next day we started off the day by eating at hashhouseagogo that is housed in the Rio Casino and Hotel. I have already eaten at Hash House A Go Go in the past in Orlando when I used to live in Florida, so I knew what to expect to knew that ordering one plate is all you need for two people, with plenty of leftovers. After that we decided to jump the free shuttle back over to the Harrah’s Hotel and Casino, with a plan in mind to start the day at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. The Venetian Hotel and Casino is unique in the fact that it has canals running through the hotel, which contain gondolas along with Gondolier’s that sing while driving a boat through the canal. You can pay a fee to take a boat ride through the casino, but it is just as fun to being onlooker and seeing others go by.

After enjoying the Venetian Hotel and Casino, we headed over to the Treasure Island hotel and casino. Although I hear they don’t do the pirate fight anymore, they still have the pirate ships out front for you to enjoy.

We took a trip through Caesars Palace Gardens in order to make it over to the Bellagio hotel and casino. On our way through the gardens, we came across a beautiful Shrine and a glamorous fountain.

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino had a beautiful fall display put together in there a tram that’s was too beautiful to miss out on going to see in person. These pictures do not even do justice to the beauty of this display.

After checking out the atrium, we took a stroll through the Bellagio hotel and casino on our way to the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, and came across a lovely chocolatier and bakery. There was different types of chocolate dripping from the ceiling down to the floor in a beautiful Cascade of Fountain.

While walking up to the back of the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, we came across a beautiful statue of a woman dancing that could not be passed up without a photograph.

we then enjoyed the sights and a chocolate martini at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

we ended the Night by taking a stroll through the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. You know that I could not resist a picture of a bunny!

The next day we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunrise outside of our window at the Rio Hotel and Casino.

After checking out the sunrise we jumped back on that free shuttle over to the Harrah’s Hotel Casino on the Las Vegas Strip and decided to check out the new area between the Harrah’s hotel-casino and the flamingo hotel-casino, The Linq. While there we stopped to get some delicious dogs from the Haute Doggery.

Heading back to the strip, we found the perfect photo-op for catching the Paris Hotel and Casino.

The next stop was at the new Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino. I knew I wanted to go to this hotel because I had heard that they had the fancy and elaborate milkshakes at holsteins that I have been dying to try. We definitely were not let down not only by the milkshake, but the decor of the hotel and casino itself. It was as if the whole inside of this hotel and casino glittered.

We definitely had to make some time for gambling!

After blowing just a little bit of money, we headed over to Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino for , and so far have eaten at three oone main reason, to eat at Hot and Juicy Crawfish. We are trying to eat at every single one in the United Statesf them in Orlando Florida, Los Angeles California, and now Las Vegas Nevada. If you have not eaten as a hot and juicy crawfish, please make sure to put it on your bucket list before you die.

On our last day in Las Vegas we decided not to leave the Rio Hotel and Casino. We spent the day lounging, exploring our own hotel, discovering there was a Smash Burger for lunch, and then played in the casino all night. We actually ended up ahead by $7 yes, LOL. I hope that’s this post and review is helpful for you the next time you decide to take a trip to Sin City. It is a lot different than it used to be 15 years ago, but you can do it cheap and still have a great time.

Make sure to follow me on all of my travels. You never know where i will end up next!
