Beautiful Views from Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden, Germany

This is Hitler's Eagles Nest, sitting on a mountain peak high above Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. Originally a birthday present to Adolf Hitler, it now features a pretty nice restaurant with some spectacular 360-degree views of the Alps. Depending on weather circumstances, the panorama is incredible. You can look over both Germany and Austria, and on a clear day you can see Salzburg. When it's misty - and I heard that's pretty often the case - the clouds can give an eerie feeling .

I like history and photography, and this is a great location to combine just those. If you are short on time, you can take a tour from Salzburg or from Munich with everything included (transport, guides, etc.). Recommended trip!
