February 3rd was Setsubun.
I'm in the middle of a solo camp article, but it's an interesting habit, so I'll make it an article.
Setsubun is the day before the beginning of spring, the beginning of summer, the beginning of autumn, and the beginning of winter.
In other words, it occurs four times a year and refers to the day before the change of season.
And especially the day before Risshun is considered the most important of the four.
In the past, it was supposed to be the beginning of a new year on the first day of spring, so it must be New Year's Eve.
This year, a nearby cafe happened to be selling "Vegan Ehomaki".
Recently, ehomaki rolls have become too extravagant, with grilled meat and seafood wrapped around them (laughs).
I bought this because I wanted to eat something similar to the old-fashioned ehomaki. (Advance reservation)

ソロキャンプの記事の途中ですが、面白い習慣なので記事にします。
節分とは何かというと「立春」「立夏」「立秋」「立冬」の前日のことです。
つまり、1年に4回あって、季節の変わり目の前日のことを言います。
そして特に「立春」の前日は4つの中で最も大切であると考えられています。
昔は「立春から新しい一年が始まる」ことになっていましたから、大晦日に当たるのでしょう。
今年はたまたま近所のカフェが「ヴィーガン恵方巻き」を発売していました。
最近の恵方巻きは、焼き肉を巻いたり海鮮を巻いたり、豪華になりすぎなんです（笑）
昔ながらの恵方巻きに近いものが食べたくて、こちらを購入しました。（事前予約）
Ehomaki, the sushi rolls eaten on Setsubun, are meant to be eaten silently while facing the lucky direction.
“Eho” is the direction of Toshitokujin, the god of good fortune.
It is the best direction for the year, and this direction changes every year.
The reason is that Toshitokujin is moved every year according to the zodiac.

There are actually only four eho above.
Toshitokujin is the god who governs the fortune of the year.
Therefore, it is believed that if you do something towards the eho, everything will go well.
節分の日に食べる巻き寿司の「恵方巻き」は「恵方を向いて無言で食べる」ものです。
「恵方」というのは福徳をつかさどる歳徳神（としとくじん）様がいる方角です。
その年に最もよい方角であり、この方角は毎年変わります。
何故かというと、歳徳神さまは干支にそって毎年移動されているからだそうです。
「恵方」は日本独自の天文や占いである「陰陽道（おんみょうどう）」で決まります。
この決め方は非常に難しい仕組みなので、このブログでは省略します。
- 東北東：東北東やや東／75度
- 西南西：西南西やや西／255度
- 南南東：南南東やや南／165度
- 北北西：北北西やや北／345度
恵方は実質、以上の4つしかありません。
歳徳神様は、その年の福を司る神様です。
なので、恵方に向かって何かをすると、あらゆることがうまくいくと信じられています。

この巻き寿司の具材の言い伝えは以下のようです。
- うなぎ（あなご）：（1）「うなぎのぼり」＝「上昇・出世」（2）長い形＝「長寿」
- かんぴょう：細長い形状から「長生き」
- しいたけ：形が陣笠に似ていることから、「身を守る」という意味
- きゅうり：「九利」の漢字を当てて、「9つの利をもたらす」
- えび：（1）目玉が飛び出る＝「めでたし」（2）ひげが長く腰が曲がっている＝「長寿」
- 桜でんぶ：鯛が原料だから「めでたい」
- 卵焼き：黄色＝「財の豊かさ」「金運上昇」
Eho-maki is eaten as a whole without being cut like a typical futomaki.
It does not cut because it has the meaning of "not cutting the edge".
For my blog photo, I cut only the ends because I wanted to capture the color of the cross section (laughs).
Ehomaki is eaten facing the eho where Toshitokujin is.
Furthermore, if you talk while eating, it is said that "fortune runs away".
I eat as quietly as possible. It's a really interesting custom (laughs).
In 2023, the eho was “south-southeast and slightly south”.
I displayed "165 degrees south" with the "Compass" app on my iPhone and ate it facing that direction.
It is said that your wish will come true if you eat the ehomaki while imagining your wish.
I made a wish and slowly savored the ehomaki.

恵方巻きは、一般的な太巻きのように切らずに丸齧りします。
「縁を切らない」という意味がこめられているので、カットしません。
私のブログの写真は、断面の彩りを撮影したくて、両端のみカットしました（笑）
恵方巻きは歳徳神様がいる恵方を向いて食べます。
更に、食べている間に会話をすると「福が逃げる」とされています。
できるだけ黙って食べるんですよ。本当に面白い習慣ですよね（笑）
2023年は「南南東やや南」が恵方でした。
iPhoneの「コンパス」アプリで「165°南」を表示させ、そちらを向いて食べました。
願いごとを思い浮かべながら恵方巻きを食べると、願いが叶うといわれています。
願いをこめて、ゆっくりと恵方巻きを味わいましたよ。
