“One of the only ways to get out of a tight box is to invent your way out.” - Jeff Bezos
First of all, you won’t get that much personal information from me. You’ll get to know me through writing. This is my first off-topic or not really a travel category post as I would like to thank everyone who has been really reading and following my posts.
@flipstar, @liberorist, @harrynewman @gnocdepatat @anarchospace etc., and to my few followers for their continued support. I actually would like to see more of your content on my feed. I have unfollowed some people just so I won’t miss out on any good content that is getting drowned by resteems and other posts that don’t interest me. I don’t really care if I don’t have a lot of followers, what I want are just people who legitimately follow me because they are really interested in my what I write.
For those who don’t know yet, I quit my corporate job and went traveling and living alone in other countries for 4 years (South East Asia - Russia - South America), armed with nothing but my own courage.
I came back with a fresh perspective of the world, now working on a startup project based on everything I’ve learned during my trip, armed with nothing but my own vision.
After my long trip, I don’t fit in the puzzle anymore, friends have moved on with their lives, and not really interested in hearing my stories. I stayed away from the city and decided to live here in isolation, in a small beach town to work on my project. However, I don’t know where and how to start my life all over again, with almost no friends, no job, no place, no love - just nothing really. All that sacrifice I did in the past in order to make a radical change in my life and to find my real purpose.
After almost two months, suddenly everything is falling into place, I found a freelancing gig online, a cat to keep me company and my own place. I was still struggling to get back on my feet again until a friend recommended me this wonderful community. I believe in it straight away, so I started to write about my travel experiences, lessons learned, tips and advice to inspire people to travel even with less money. And all of my real life experiences, absolutely no BS.
Some friends told me when they saw that my first two posts were starting to make money, they said it is too good to be true, easy money or they want “to see it, to believe it”. I wanted to say that it’s 4 years of hard travel and 1 week of hard work and writing.
Doubters gonna doubt, but I am here to stay. The rest of the world can stay on Facebook, I am switching to steemit now. Finally, I can be productive during my free time and be rightfully rewarded for my work. Anything worthwhile takes time. Good things don’t come easy.
Someday, when everything works out, I'd be able to take another big trip. Who knows, maybe I'll get to visit some of my followers. ;)
Big thanks to those people who have helped me on the road - people who have hosted me in their homes, gave me rides, accepted me as a volunteer, my new friends in South America and everyone who filled my travel with good memories and wonderful experiences. I’m more than happy to "Pay it forward" and give inspiration to steemians who are thinking of traveling and making a big change in their lives. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
