The headquarters of this creepy legend is the ´´dorea institute´´, a children's psychiatric hospital, located in the city of franklin Quebec in canada, where thousands of children suffered the terror that lived inside their walls.
Its history begins when the government of Quebec and members of the Catholic church for financial and selfish reasons, decide to modify the records of orphaned children to diagnose them with mental health problems, and so instead of having them in an orphanage they were confined as patients " mentally deficient "in a psychiatric hospital, where they were subjected to the most inhuman treatment that someone could receive.

Survivors who are now elderly, have been mentally, physically and sexually abused, were used as guinea pigs for creepy experiments, they even tried drugs with them. Many of the children were punished on the basis of beatings, straitjackets, electroshock sessions and lobotomies.
The elders narrate with deep pain, the fact that many of their friends did not survive the hell, because they were killed by the religious and doctors, and those who could not stand the abuse, they committed suicide.
This generation of children who suffered the pain during the years they were locked in deplorable conditions, are known as the orphans of duplessis, referring to the surname of the prime minister of Quebec of that time "Mauruce duplessis" whose command was known as' 'The great darkness''.
Patients who arrived alive at the age of 18, were discharged from the institution, however after so much suffering and bad practices, almost 80% of them failed to make a functional life in their adult life, as many ended up living fearful, insecure or truly crazy.
At present the institute has been totally abandoned, nevertheless the neighbors, travelers and inhabitants of the city say that among its eleven buildings, among them a church still inhabits tormented souls, because you can hear children crying at night, and their silhouettes You can see them running between the corridors and from one building to another.
And although the spirits of children are full of pain, it is not theirs that we have to take care of ourselves, but of the evil spirits or demons that accompany them, because the experts in the paranormal assure that the evil still inhabits the place, as it has done forever.
