Follow Friday: New year, new Hive?

The News

Welcome to the first #FollowFriday of 2024.

We start 2024 with $HIVE worth a little more than a year ago, but it has fluctuated a bit and this week everything dropped a bit. Volume has been fairly constant at around $1m per day. I know 'the other coin' trades more than that, but maybe it is people selling what they had. After all this time of practically no development 'over there' it is amazing that anyone stays. Hive is where it is at. I would encourage you to visit Coingecko each week and vote up $HIVE to keep it on 100% approval rating.

$HIVE

If you have used Bittrex then you may have had this email. As the previous one told me I only had 35c in there I had ignored it, but they say I would have to pay a 1% fee with a minimum of $20! I need to log in and close the account, but I have lost my 2-factor details and am waiting for them to re-verify me.

Email

You can see the Freechain movie made by @lordbutterfly in an online film festival. It is currently leading in the public vote.

Friday Follows

  • @frostdrop is the partner of @alonicus, who I met last year. She has posts about gardening and cooking already.
  • I found @sterlingux with my script I use with the #BritList. He has served in the army and has stories to tell.
  • @dickturpin has been here for a while, but can be erratic with his posting. He has done a few covering the Christmas period that may raise a smile.
  • @thetroublenotes are a band who have been here almost since the start and have stuck with Hive. You can find lots of great music here, so spread the word that it is a good place for musicians to be.

These folk get a share of the post rewards.

Resolve yourself

This is the traditional time to set some goals for yourself. Here are some suggestions for some you might want to achieve:

  • Introduce someone to Hive. If they join then they will need guidance to begin with. You can help them out.
  • Nurture some newbies. Look for some new people who are just starting out. We all have to start somewhere and Hive takes some getting used to. This may not earn you big rewards, but it is valuable work.
  • Buy some $HIVE. We may look back on this as a good time to buy. There is a lack of exchanges where you can buy Hive, but you can get it with your credit card via a button on the Peakd wallet page. I did that this week. If you take part in #HPUD you may win a prize.
  • Buy something with crypto. If you are earning on Hive then you may be able to bypass fiat to buy things. There are classified ads on Hivelist. Or you can buy music in @risingstargame.
  • Follow some new people. There is something for nearly every interest here. Fill your feed with what you love to make every day fun. Check out the music, comics, photography, stories and more. Support that content to encourage more of it.
  • Share your Hive successes. If Hive is working for you then post about it on other platforms. There is a lot of scepticism about crypto, so you can help to counter that.

What else can we be doing?

The End

I will be producing the #BritList tomorrow, so any further suggestions are welcome. I hope to see some people return here too.
