Alphonso Mango : A different taste, color and aroma

Hello friends. The summer season is coming here in India. The most commonly found and eaten fruit here in summer is Hapus mango. It is known as Alphonso Mango. Friends, it is found mostly in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra in India; however, it is found in the entire Konkan region and in many other districts.

But Ratnagiri Hapus mango is very famous. It has a unique taste, which makes everyone crazy about it. Due to its taste, color, and fragrance, it is exported to many countries. This mango has a specialty, it does not spoil for fifteen days, even after being ripe. It is sold by the dozen here.

The price of twelve Hapus mangoes can range from Rs 1200 to Rs 1500. Its price increases as soon as the season starts. It reduces after one or two months. Here in Maharashtra, people stop eating mangoes after the rains. Friends, in my village, there are three-four Hapus mango trees planted on the side of the farm. These were planted by our father. When I went to the village on Sunday, I went to see him. Right now, they are bearing very small fruits.

You can see in the image that when it is a little bigger, it is called raw curry. In childhood, we used to cut it and eat it after applying salt and turmeric masala. Its sweet and sour taste is very enjoyable. They will grow up by May. When the mangoes from my tree grow up, I will definitely show them that pickles are also made from raw mangoes. Mangoes of pickles are different. This Hapus mango has many types and names. Among these, Ratnagiri Hapus and Devgarh Hapus are very famous. Here, its plants are available in nurseries; nowadays, they are also available online.
