Sunset Prayer
I was sitting on the steps of Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh, India watching the beautiful Sunset over the holy Ganga while waiting for the puja to start. It was just a day or two ago. There were a lot of Indian people around doing all sorts of activities, offering a bunch of products and begging for money. It was just another evening in India, as usual. Suddenly but very gently, few steps away from me an old gentleman started magically playing the traditional Indian wooden flute. This musician was very good at it and with the heavenly sounds intensified the whole ambiance. I was soaking in blissful energies of those moments of pure love and joy of life while noticing the 2 statues on the last step before the streaming waters of Ganges with the golden background of the setting Sun. I just can't help myself with not seeing such memorable sights cause of profession as a photographer. Additionally, there was a beautiful Indian girl bathing next to the statues. Maybe actually she helped me see the rest.
I was thinking to myself to get up and shoot that scene but I was a bit discouraged by the facts that I don't have a professional photo gear and also both cameras on my phone not working properly. Still, finally I did it and I'm very satisfied with the result!
Rishikesh, India
Even though the statues with Ganges and the setting Sun would be good enough, more to the motif is the woman who came into the scene and prayed. This is India!
This is also my entry to the Around the world photo contest and I think it's the 1st time I applied for it.
