Morrocoy Babies (Update)
¡Hola nuevamente a todos! Tercera vez que camino por estos lares, visitando la bella comunidad de Hive Pets. Ya previamente les hablé del Señor Morrocoy, luego de su prole, los Bebés Morrocoy, y hoy pues les traigo una actualización de estos últimos, que nacieron apenas unas pocas semanas atrás, a principios de junio de 2021. Aquí pueden leer las dos publicaciones previas de esta interesante tribu:
Hello again everyone! Third time I walk through these parts, visiting the beautiful community of Hive Pets. I previously told you about Mr. Morrocoy, after his offspring, the Morrocoy Babies, and today I bring you an update on the latter, who were born just a few weeks ago, at the beginning of June 2021. Here you can read the two previous publications of this interesting tribe:
Hace menos de dos semanas encontré dos morrocoyes recién nacidos y al siguiente día, conseguimos otro, muy pequeño también, pero con un carácter… muy vivaz y muy determinado en hacer su propia voluntad. Bueno, lo cierto es que los coloqué juntos en la guardería temporal, que básicamente consistió en un pequeño macetero de plástico, pero luego les mudé a la guardería definitiva, que es un macetero de cemento más grande, en donde también reciben luz solar. Esta mudanza ocurrió, porque los tres morrocoyes que tenía allí, los pude dar en adopción ayer lunes. Por lo general el ciclo es así: Entre mayo y julio nacen las nuevas crías, que voy recogiendo del solar y llevo para dentro de mi casa, están conmigo un año hasta que les encuentro buenos hogares, o regresan al solar, porque ya están lo suficientemente fuertes como para valerse por sí mismas. Las que nacieron en el 2020 fueron 10, de esas crías, 7 de ellas las dí en adopción hace dos meses, a un hermoso hogar en donde hay niños que les quieren y cuidan, y quedaron 3 que fue las que dí ayer a uno de mis amigos. A él, en el año 2019, le dí otras 3 crías, que habían nacido en el año 2018; y él ayer, al llegar a su casa con sus nuevos bebés, me envió una foto mostrándome las crías anteriores y las nuevas. Miren que grandes están las que nacieron hace 3 años:

Less than two weeks ago I found two newborn morrocoyes and the next day, we got another one, very small too, but with a character… very lively and very determined to do their own thing. Well, the truth is that I put them together in the temporary nursery, which basically consisted of a small plastic planter, but then I moved them to the definitive nursery, which is a larger cement planter, where they also receive sunlight. This move happened, because the three morrocoyes I had there, I was able to give them up for adoption yesterday Monday. In general, the cycle is like this: Between May and July the new offspring are born, which I collect from the backyard and bring home, they stay with me for a year until I find good homes for them, or they return to the backyard, because they are already there strong enough to fend for themselves. Those who were born in 2020 were 10, of those babies, 7 of them I gave them up for adoption two months ago, to a beautiful home where there are children who love and care for them, and there were 3 left, which were the ones I gave yesterday to one of my friends. To him, in 2019, I gave 3 other babies, which had been born in 2018; and yesterday, when he got home with his new babies, he sent me a photo showing me the old and the new babies. Los bebecitos de este año han crecido también. En el post anterior pueden ver lo pequeñitas que eran, y ahora están más despiertas y vivaces. Es necesario que diga, que estas crías no tienen mucha fuerza en sus mandíbulas, razón por la cual es necesario darles de comer varias veces al día (3-4 veces), alimento suave, blando o picado en trozos pequeñitos, e igualmente variado. Les he dado hojitas de tréboles, pequeñas flores de trillolit desmenuzadas, zanahoria rallada finamente, lechuga picadita, más adelante trataré de que coman proteína animal para que fortalezcan sus huesos. También es indispensable recoger los restos de alimentos luego de que están satisfechas, así evitamos que sean atacadas por hormigas, que las podrían picar hasta matarlas. Por otra parte han de tener un suministro constante de agua limpia.
The babies this year have grown too. In the previous post you can see how tiny they were, and now they are more awake and lively. It is necessary to say that these babies do not have much strength in their jaws, which is why it is necessary to feed them several times a day (3-4 times), soft food, soft or chopped into tiny pieces, and equally varied. I have given them clover leaves, small crumbled trillolit flowers, finely grated carrot, later I will try to get them to eat animal protein to strengthen their bones. It is also essential to collect the remains of food after they are satisfied, so we avoid being attacked by ants, which could bite them to death. On the other hand they must have a constant supply of clean water.
