Women in Tech!

It’s amazing how technology is now part of our everyday lives. Almost everyone globally now owns a phone, what’s more is that many industries now rely on technology for their activities such as meetings online,
Email communications, and many more. It is why people from various locations can work in other countries without being there physically.

I was talking to a friend a few days ago about learning a skill so she could find a she could do from home since she was pregnant and was in need of a job. The reply I got was that she wasn’t good with computing and doesn’t know how these things work. There are basic technical skills everyone should know and even though my title is “women in tech” I believe everyone should be tech savvy.

I however will be writing specifically for women who lack basic technology and computing skills. The aim is to foster confidence in more women like my friend, to be able to advance in today’s world and gain access to employment opportunities in their fields of interest. This is really exciting for me too because my articles will be from my personal learnings as I explore more tech-related skills so don’t expect coding and data analysis just yet; although we might get to that eventually.

The main purpose of this series is educational. Tech skills are the future and it is why technology is gradually becoming more accessible globally and is part of every industry. If you have difficulties in doing basic computational operations, then you are welcome to join me in this learning experience.
