The urgent reason you must quit smoking today.

There are various reasons why people smoke cigarettes, there is a claim that cigarette smoking is used to fulfill the purpose of stress relief, for pleasure, or to satisfy certain social needs, but this same smoking causes over 480,000 death cases on a yearly basis, then is it worth sticking with? For the excuse we may have for smoking, we need to also bear in mind that; smoking causes yearly death more than the combination of; HIV, excessive alcohol intake, injuries from cars, and even fire-related diseases. Imagine that, smoking is as deadly as that, then it is terrifying, or don't you feel terrified about the impact yet? then hold on let me tell you a bit more, you may probably get so scared at that point.

Smoking could cause serious long-term negative effects on the body, and terrible health effects such as; cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases. Some people claim to chew tobacco rather than smoke it, this is supposed to limit the effect it has on their health (according to them), but whether it is chewed or smoked, it still remains very dangerous to your health. Some bodily effects of smoking begin to occur almost immediately, but others can start to affect only after a few years.
In actual sense, smoking can increase long-term health complications over the years, but some of the bodily effects happen almost instantly. Examples of long-term complications are; cancer, glaucoma as well as some blood-related issues, the good thing is that, when smoking is reversed, the health issues could get revered as well. Do not try to twist your smoke option because you want to try to make it safe, truth is, whether you are smoking with a cigar, a pipe, an e-cigarette, or even a hookah, it would be challenging to avoid health risks.

Maybe you still feel I do not have a strong, valid point to ask you to quit, but let's get through to describing the health and cancer risk of smoking. With smoking, the function of the body could be harmed, overall health can as well become negatively affected. Inflammation is increased throughout the body, the immune system is negatively affected.

Smoking provides an environmental risk factor resulting in cases like rheumatoid arthritis, it speeds up the chance of cancer growth also, some of the possible cancer types are; cervical cancer, kidney, and uterine cancer, esophageal cancer, laryngeal cancer, colorectal cancer bladder cancer, acute myeloid leukemia, gastric or stomach cancer, lung cancer, and oropharyngeal cancer.

Smoking over a long time can affect your vision and optic nerve, it becomes possible for you to develop some eye conditions like; glaucoma, cataracts, and muscular degeneration (often age-related). Smoking gets the airways damaged, it damages the air sacs in the lungs and cilia, which are tiny hair-like structures preventing mucus and dirt from getting into the lungs.

When smoking causes lung damage and tissue loss, it never comes back. With the respiratory system being damaged, it will also open the body for some form of infections that affects the lungs, such as tuberculosis and pneumonia, the chances of death from these illnesses are also very possible.Asthma cases would also get intensified with smoking. A pregnant mother could affect the child with underdeveloped lungs.

The skin, nail and har can also get affected through the habit of smoking, smoking can affect skin structure contributing to wrinkles, inability of injuries to heal fast, premature skin damage and some form of skin cancer.

These are only a few of what the effect of cigatte smoking could add to the body, there is so much more that can be done to the body asides from these mentioned ones.

What happens when you try to quit smoking?

One of the major ingredients in tobacco is nicotine, this nicotine is highly addictive and a habit-forming one and a strong reason why people find it difficult to stop smoking. Nicotine gets to your brain within seconds and gets you energized for some time. However, after the effect wears off, you may start, you may either start to crave more or start to feel really tired. When you physically withdraw from nicotine, it automatically impairs your ability to reason, you also begin to have negative emotions like; irritability, anxiety, headache, troubled sleeping, and even depression and this may push you to desire it again, but beyond the urge of going back to the destructive act, you need to also bear in mind;

  • The feeling is only a temporary one, your decision to quit smoking is breaking the cycle of addiction and essentially, the brain is rewired to stop craving nicotine.

  • If you sincerely desire to quit, then you need to come up with a helpful plan that will help you overcome triggers and cravings.

  • The sooner you choose to quit smoking, the faster it would be for you to reduce the risk of having hear and lung diseases, cancer and other health complications we have described further.
