Today is Friday - time to talk about our purchases in #MarketFriday by @dswigle! I hope you are all right and you are healthy!
Omicron is also rampant in our country. We don't go anywhere except grocery stores and then only once a week. This time I needed to buy spices and cereals and I went to my favorite store.
I was lucky - there was no one in the store except the saleswoman. People are afraid of the virus so they only go to stores when necessary. I really love these bright colors!
I needed to buy dry onion powder. I didn't know what it looked like because I bought it for the first time. So I walked along the counter and tried to read the name of the spices in Hebrew (not very easy😏😃)
Too bad I was wearing a mask. There is no spice aroma at all 😭
I found whole cardamom seeds. I remember them by sight. I like to use this when making mulled wine.
The onion powder turned out to be white (for some reason I thought it would be milky) and it turned out to be in boxes.
Now I need to find cinnamon sticks. I found a hot dry red pepper. I like to season these peppers - I ferment them and then mix them with apple cider vinegar. It's just fire!!! 🔥 My husband loves this seasoning.
And in these three buckets of oatmeal: whole, medium help and fine grinding. I need to buy some medium oatmeal.
I really like baking oatmeal cinnamon gingerbread cookies and adding oatmeal flour(I grind oatmeal in a blender) to spelled flour in a pie. In addition, in the mornings, my husband and I love to eat oatmeal with berries (I take frozen ones) and honey for breakfast.
Aha! Here are the cinnamon sticks. But this is not the cinnamon that I need. It's cassia cinnamon, and I need ceylon cinnamon. It came in cute bags.
When I got home, I opened the package and was amazed! 😮
Each cinnamon stick was wrapped carefully and neatly. I haven't seen this yet!
This is an amazing cinnamon for coffee and mulled wine!!!
I'm sure you had some interesting purchases this week too! Take care of yourself!!!
