I decided to get rippe plantain here in Anthony Village market. It was very surprising to me that the plantain I do buy at the rate of NGN 500 is now NGN 1,200 for the ripe one while the unripe plantain is now NGN 2,000 formally NGN 700 that is more than 100% increment. One thing I noticed is that unripe plantain is far more expensive than ripped plantain. I believe that is because ripe plantains are close to getting spoilt which is a lose to the seller. Unripe plantain is more beneficial to health too. In conclusion I ended up not buying because it was way above my budget for the weekend.
I bought sugarcane just for the fun of it though. The price is very close to being affordable.
I wanted to get some oranges but what I noticed is that these oranges where not naturally allowed to ripe itself. It got ripe through human interference. These days it is very difficult to get naturally ripe fruit within my locality. As the bad economy has made some bad people more desperate. The dangerous meteoric rise of artificial fruit ripening in Nigeria
In all I ended up getting sugarcane in today's market, I will later go to the shopping mall to get some meat and rice for the weekend.
