*Hello everyone, if you happened to read my blog last Wednesday, I mentioned that the husband of mine would be going home for a month vacation after three long years!
And now? We have been spending time together since last Wednesday, and it's been great so far. I even didn't have a chance to engage as I was so busy as we always have visitors (his family since the day he arrived). That was exhausting, lol. Thus today, his male friends visited him here, and as of the writing, they are busy drinking sessions! OH, men will always be men, so I get this opportunity to share what we did on the first day together instead of sulking.
After years of our marriage, this one is the most exciting. We now have a house we can call ours, unlike the previous before (we stay with her mother). I bought some home essentials in the past months and even shared them here, yet many are still lacking. Supposedly, he will be resting, but maybe it's the adrenaline rush he couldn't. So we both decided to go out not for a date but to buy what we needed.
A few steps from the store, he asked if I had a small bill. Though I was wondering, I gave him $1. Then, he stops in front of a food kiosk selling street foods like kikiam, squid and fish balls, lumpia, etc..
We bought a cup that cost less than $1! The above street foods mentioned were just deep fry. Nothing special; you can do it at home, but what makes it unique is the sauce. You can choose, based on your liking, sweet, spicy, or both. Every seller prepares their sauce. Since this is one of those famous street foods in the Philippines, most of the time, the seller that prepares the best sauce has excellent sales.
Sauce is just placed at the side of the cart, and customers can get as much as they want.
The husband says he has missed eating this food like this for the past years. I laughed and joked with him, "So, all you want is just a fishball date? "
After we roamed around downtown, canvasing some furniture and others that would fit our budget, he got starved. I asked him where he wanted to eat, and you know where he chose? In Mang Inasal.
Mang Inasal is a well-known fast food chain in our country that sells barbeque and goes with unlimited Rice!
Asian thing, Rice is life.
We both ordered chicken barbeque mine was spicy, and he was not, but he went with unlimited Rice.
How would you differentiate between orders?
The Green plate means unlimited Rice. Before the pandemic, condiments are just placed on the table. Now, it was served for lesser contacts. Did you notice the eating utensils? The spoon and fork?
Kudos for the initiative.
How much does it cost? Honestly, I forgot the exact amount, but including the drinks, I paid more or less $9!
That goes with a yummy dessert, Halo-halo.
To all non-Filipino fellow Hivians, are you familiar with this?
Finally, when we are done purchasing! The problem now is we don't have a car, and we can only manage to bring some of the stuff if we are going to commute. The husband opted to look for a jeep
to be rented which we paid around $8.95.
Hehe, I was surprised the moment I got inside the Jeep. It was clean, and the design was my favorite. Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
See? It matches my bag 😄.
Happy weekend everyone and this is my entry in #Market Friday hosted by @dswigle.
