Hello to all photography lovers and especially to those who are dedicated to documentary or travel photography. Today I want to tell you about a talk I attended thanks to a good friend about documentary and travel photography. The creators of The Ram Society were the speakers at this talk and I had already told you about them in this publication of a similar activity. This time everything took place at the Simon Bolivar Museum in Old Havana, in a conference room where Jorge and Christelle gave us their experiences for free and I think it is important to highlight this type of events in Cuba because it does not usually happen. Perhaps many of the photographers in this community have been able to attend work spaces, workshops or conferences on photography but in Cuba it is very rare that this happens and even more so if it is free.
In the following images I show you the pictures I took during the conference, in this kind of events the camera is essential and that's why I took some pictures thinking of showing you my experience in a publication. Christelle started talking about how she met Jorge and how they started this adventure in photography that became a fascinating community of which they are guides to name it. Then Jorge told us about three projects they worked on together with National Geographic. One of them caught my attention because of its history and it is the one that you can almost see in the following photo, it is titled "There is Life on Mars" because it was made in an area of the Sahara desert where coincidentally they were testing NASA's rovers because it is an area similar to the land of the planet Mars. Finally there was a very enlightening round of questions and doubts. I leave you the pictures I could take that day where you can even see the people who attended and I can only tell you that the first image is the one I liked the most of all I did. Hola a todos los amantes de la fotografía y en especial a aquellos que se dedican a la fotografía documental o de viajes. Hoy quiero conversarles sobre una charla a la que asistí gracias a un buen amigo sobre la fotografía documental y de viajes. Los creadores de The Ram Society fueron los conferencistas de dicha charla y ya les había hablado sobre ellos en esta publicación de una actividad similar. En esta ocasión todo se desarrollo en el Museo Simón Bolívar en la Habana Vieja, en una sala de conferencias donde Jorge y Christelle de forma gratuita nos transmitieron sus experiencias y creo que es primordial resaltar este tipo de eventos en Cuba pues no suele pasar. Quizás muchos de los fotógrafos en esta comunidad han podido asistir a espacios de trabajo, talleres o conferencias sobre fotografía pero en Cuba es muy raro que eso pase y mas siendo gratuito.
En las siguientes imágenes les muestro las capturas que hice durante la conferencia, en este tipo de eventos la cámara es primordial y por ello les hice algunas fotos pensando en mostrarles mi experiencia en una publicación. Christelle comenzó hablando de como conoció a Jorge y comenzaron esta aventura dentro de la fotografía que se convirtió en una comunidad fascinante de la que son guías por ponerle un nombre. Luego Jorge nos hablo sobre tres proyectos en los que trabajaron de conjunto con National Geographic. De ellos uno me llamo la atención por la historia y es el que casi se logra ver en la siguiente foto, se titula "Hay Vida en Marte" porque fue hecho en un área del desierto del Sahara donde coincidentemente se estaban realizando pruebas de los Rover de la NASA al ser un área similar a la tierra del planeta Marte. Finalmente se hizo una ronda de dudas y preguntas bastante esclarecedoras. Les dejo las fotos que pude hacer ese día donde incluso podrán ver las personas que atendieron y solo me queda decirles que la primera imagen es la que más me gustó de todas las que hice. ¿Cuál fue la que mas te gusto a tí?
