Portrait of some Black Swans 🦢 🖤 photographed during my exhibition in the castle gardens.

Hi all 👋🏻

Today I want to share with you all a selection of photographs I took of some Black Swans 🦢 🖤
I encountered on one of my art exhibitions in the Netherlands 🇳🇱
We were painting live outside in castle gardens in Arcen, during the weekend of a week long exhibition in the castle and I had a view right on a large pond. 🥰😎
And in between of painting, talking to exhibition visitors… I took a few photographs when the group of swans came closer by.

(I will post about this exhibition at a later date, so stay tuned 😉)

All photos are taken with my (late) #Canon eos 550D with 18 - 135 mm lens in 21 September 2013.

I ordered the photographs with the time stamps.

More information about this majestic bird you find here: In the website of Wikipedia!

It States;
”The black swan (Cygnus atratus) is a large waterbird, a species of swan which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest regions of Australia. Within Australia, the black swan is nomadic, with erratic migration patterns dependent upon climatic conditions. It is a large bird with mostly black plumage and a red bill. It is a monogamous breeder, with both partners sharing incubation and cygnet-rearing duties.

The black swan was introduced to various countries as an ornamental bird in the 1800s, but has managed to escape and form stable populations. Described scientifically by English naturalist John Latham in 1790, the black swan was formerly placed into a monotypic genus, Chenopis. Black swans can be found singly, or in loose companies numbering into the hundreds or even thousands. It is a popular bird in zoological gardens and bird collections, and escapees are sometimes seen outside their natural range.”

”The black swan is almost exclusively herbivorous, and while there is some regional and seasonal variation, the diet is generally dominated by aquatic and marshland plants.”

Let me show you my captures now.

This Swan was closely watching me, what I was doing…

Than it went into the pond to feed.

Even from there it still kept a close eye on me… thinking: ”What is that human being doing there? Is she painting me?” 😉🤓🎨

I wasn’t… painting the black swans, but started on a painting of an otter 🦦

my little table

WHO DOESN’T WANT TO WORK IN SUCH AN AREA 🥰🎨🤩

Some more photographs.

And friends joined the lonely black swan.

A little bit closer by.

After painting a bit more… the swans came on land again 🤩😎

Started cleaning themselves.

Still watching me 🤓😉

I got by a little bit closer… 😎 saw all the layers of the feathers. Details again… yep, I love details.

And some time later… they walked off… and I saw the curls of this black swan’s wing feathers 🪶 beautiful 😍 isn’t it?

And with this last photograph of them walking away… I say; “that’s all for today, join me in my next posts for more #adventures, #stories and #photographs” 😎👋🏻 Even some #artworks once in a while will come by 🎨
Thank you so much for looking, and reading. And if you liked my post, an upvote or re-blog is always welcome 🙏🏻
Maybe you find here some inspiration of birds for a new story post @wrestlingdesires 😉😎

Have a great day all 😎👋🏻
