Visiting Vineyard In A middle Of 1500m Mountains

It makes sense to go to a vineyard and have some wine tasted when you are in a country that produces it, in this case, Madeira. We had booked a tour and wine tasting was part of the tour the end things up.
This particular vineyard is located on the northern side of Madeira and is called Quinta do Barbusano winery. They have a caouple of other vineyards more on the island, this is just one of these.

It is located in a stunningly scenic mountain valley. Around this town, everywhere you look are 1500m high mountains.

First, we had a walk around some areas of the vineyard where they grow grapes. The guide told us everything about growing grapes for wine and how the weather is a very big factor in how the grapes taste. Different wines require different grapes in terms of the sunlight they are in. It changes the grape taste completely.

There are so many households that grow some kind of crops in this area, and this photo perfectly illustrates this.

We were also allowed to take some grapes and eat them. I love to eat grapes but for the mother of god... these were the best I have ever tasted. So juicy, tasty and fresh. Food store grapes I buy here in Estonia don't even come remotely close to the taste of the grapes that grow there.

I enjoyed being in shade under the grape bushes lol, the sun was burning me.

At the end of the tour, it was finally time to taste some wines. We got to taste 8 different wines and drink some more of the wines we liked. We sat at the table with some US and some UK people. Had some cool talks with them. It was funny to see how much more people start to talk and laugh the more we drank some wine lol😅.

It was a great tour and yes, the wines were really good. Especially two white wines, I bought one bottle to enjoy it later during the trip.
It was time for the tour guide to drive us back to where we started the trip. Here are two more landscape photos I took on the way back.
