Good intentions are not enough

I heard a very funny story today, involving the Valentine's Day, some good intentions, a bouquet of flowers and an awkward misunderstanding!

Myself I didn't send a bouquet to anyone (actually I don't remember myself doing such a gesture ever) but I have in this post two dozens of flowers for all of you, either you celebrate or not :)

The first twelve are winter anemones, my favourite wild flowers and the next twelve are from a blooming almond tree, also favourite for its winter beauty!

So there is this guy that wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a bouquet of flowers for the Valentine's day. The day before, he goes to a flower shop, choses the flowers and makes all the arrangements for the bouquet to be delivered at her girlfriend's work address with a cute card with her name and her valentine's message.

All good so far!

The bouquet did arrive on time but with no card on it and no sender name either. On top on that, the boss of the girl that was supposed to get the flowers is a single lady that assumed that the bouquet was for her. A legit assumption since it came to her office with no other info on it. And since it was meant to be a surprise, the girl herself had no idea that those flowers were her's!

As if it wasn't complicated enough, the boss got really excited trying to figure out who was the secret admirer that send her flowers on the lovers day and everyone in the office (including the girl in question) talked for hours about this thrilling matter!

But the time was passing and the guy that had send the flowers was wondering why his girl didn't call him to thank him for his present. So he called her instead.

After a couple of minutes on the phone he realised that his girlfriend hadn't receive the flowers and the surprise was spoiled. Having no other alternative he came forward and explained that he was the sender of the mysterious bouquet and it was the florist's mistake that the card was lost.

And that's how we got to the awkward part where the girl had to go to her boss and let her know that she has no secret admirer, that no one send her flowers and that the bouquet was not meant for her!

A story to prove that good intentions are not enough if the universe disagrees :)

I took those shots on the 14th and 15th of February 2022 in Crete. You can find many more pictures from those shootings here and here.
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

All the pictures and the words are mine.
