My last post was about topside Bali. Now I want to take you underwater, but a few islands away. These photos were taken over the course of several scuba dives among the Komodo Islands.
I've been diving in locations all around the world, from Hawaii, to the Belize, to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. However, nowhere matches the underwater beauty of Indonesia. The colors on the reef here are magnificent, The marine life is plentiful, and best of all the water is so warm!
A beautiful anemone plays host to some skunk anemonefish.
My dive buddy takes stock of a giant vase sponge.
A hawksbill sea turtle glides gracefully over the reef.
Indian lionfish are native to these reefs, but still a danger to divers if you accidentally bump into one of their poisonous spines.
A cuttlefish hides under some hard coral. I was able to light up this scene with an underwater strobe.
Mr. Han pauses to photograph a beautiful angelfish.
Another beautiful reef scene in the Komodo Islands.
So much sea life!
A unicorn fish with a sunburst behind
Beautiful colors of a mantis shrimp
Taking a break on one of the islands in between dives. Soaking up the beauty of the islands.
So much life!
Like a rainbow of colors underwater.
Closeup of a giant clam.
Speaking of giants, this is a giant manta ray, dwarfing a diver.
Thanks for joining me on this underwater safari.
