Water

Spring in Canmore, Alberta as two paddlers enjoy the Bow river not long after the ice melt. This post is dedicated to photos with water in it as on our hikes and adventures we are often drawn to and obsessed with water.

This photo was taken in the Lake Tahoe area of California one cold autumn day. It was amazing as water turned to snow then turned into steam driving over the Sierra Nevadas.

The Devonian Gardens are an indoor garden found in downtown Calgary. It's a nice place to go on ones lunch break, especially during a cold winter day. Outside could be negative forty, but in here, it's balmy.

One Spring looking over the Elbow River South West of Calgary, Alberta. This wild mountain stream can turn into a raging torrent as seen by the lack of trees along its shifting course.

Condensation on a seed sprouting kit. The pattern of the waterdrops was worthy of a picture. We love seeking patterns in nature.

Classic photo of the Vermilion lakes mid-Spring from Mount Norquay. Goats and sheep graze the slopes above the town of Banff hiding behind the trees to the right.

This is a canal which feeds the hydroelectric dam above the town of Canmore just before the water enters a tunnel cut through the mountain pictured below.

The colour of the water comes from its mineral rich content. At first we thought only the natural lakes had this emerald colour but that's not the case.

This appears to be somewhere in Kananaskis, taken in the mid summer. Even swampy water can be beautiful.

The raging Kootenay river near Numa Falls, well before it enters USA and then meeting up with the Columbia river in Canada before turning back into the USA again.

A Pacific Ocean beach on Vancouver Island, near Tofino, Canada. It's empty up here on Long Beach at the end of the Summer-not that it is ever crowded in one of the most Western parts of the country.

Moraine lake also shot at the end of the Summer. It's one of the most famous alpine lakes in Canada, known for its unbelievably gorgeous surrounding only surpassed by its alluring colours.

This could be anywhere but I am going to say it was captured in the Lake O'Hara area since it was taken on the August Long weekend when we were there last Summer.
