Photos of an active quarry for the extraction of some minerals near the city of Bakal, Chelyabinsk region. The quarry is huge, from the point from which I took the pictures you can’t even see the bottom. There is an observation deck at the top of the dumps, but due to bureaucratic issues it was not possible to get there. Also, because of these bureaucrats, it was not possible to get to Mount Bulandiha, since we had a time limit, and the only short way ran through the road along which huge dump trucks remove stones. The pictures were taken on May 10, when spring had already arrived. But it was on this day that it snowed...
