A small-town attraction in Tatarstan is the Kara-Karshi spring. Previously, it was just an ordinary spring near the forest, but in 2009 one of the oil companies reconstructed the area nearby. They installed gazebos, benches, made a fence and a bridge across the river. Now the place is constantly full of vacationing residents and people who simply come to get clean spring water.
