Today I want to continue our tour in the Flagler’s house. I will share photos of the Music Room interior. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the photo of the whole room, but I have fragments of this big room. Just by looking at the golden details of the furniture and paintings’ frames we can see how wealthy this family was.
The Flaglers hosted guests for parties and games in the Music Room. Music was a popular form of entertainment at that time, since there was no TV and radio at that time. Flagler’s hired a local organist to play 1,249 pipe organ.
The furniture selected for this room was arranged and moved around for different performances.
The Music Room also served as an art gallery. Among family’s collection there was a portrait of Mary Lily painted in 1902.
The "Lady in the Veil" marble bust in the southeast corner of the Music Room was sculpted by E. Fiaschi.
Flagler had a big collection of paintings of that period and they were covering almost al the space on the room’s walls.
