Hiking the mountains of the southern alps is a spectacular experience, every corner you round is simply magnificent. Even poor photographers like myself can make gold. After climbing up into the mountains we came across the cloud forests. Wet and covered in mosses as far as one could see.

After a punishing 13km hike through the mountains we stopped and camped for the night beside a beautiful high alpine lake.

Water was flowing everywhere, so many waterfalls, at times they made the trek perilous.

35km later on the last day we had some of the best views of all.
