Musical Monday: Tres buenas canciones de amor… de los 80’s

Hola a todos, en esta nueva semana y en este lunes de MUSICAL MONDAY, la estupenda iniciativa creada por @eugelys, espacio en el cual podemos compartir nuestras experiencias musicales, independientemente de que seamos o no músicos.

Hello everyone, in this new week and on this Monday of MUSICAL MONDAY, the wonderful initiative created by @eugelys, a space in which we can share our musical experiences, regardless of whether we are musicians or not.

Siempre he pensado que la música creada en la década de los 80 fue genial, y esto es por la gran calidad, la diversidad y la energía tan única, que marca un sello distintivo para todo lo que se creó en esos años. Más que una apreciación, es un sentimiento, es una emoción, que en mi caso particular, hace que me encante la música de ese entonces, y que la siga oyendo y disfrutando décadas después, y es por eso que hoy les he traído tres buenas canciones de amor de los años 80. I have always thought that the music created in the 80s was great, and this is because of the great quality, diversity and unique energy, which marks a distinctive seal for everything that was created in those years. More than an opinion, it is a feeling, it is an emotion, which in my particular case, makes me love the music of that time, and that I continue to listen to and enjoy it decades later, and that is why today, I have brought you three good love songs from the 80s. Generalmente yo oía la música en esa década en la radio, especialmente en estaciones de radio A.M. (Amplitud Modulada), pues en ese entonces, no existían las estaciones radiales F.M. (Frecuencia Modulada), o compraba vinilos y cassetes, que oía en el equipo de sonido que estaba en la sala de mi casa… eso era toda una experiencia, realmente grata.

I generally heard the music in that decade on the radio, especially on A.M. radio stations. (Amplitude Modulated), because at that time, F.M. radio stations did not exist. (Frequency Modulation), or I bought vinyl and cassettes, which I listened to on the sound system that was in the living room of my house... that was quite an experience, really pleasant.

Las tres canciones que hoy he traído, las oí hasta el cansancio en esos años, y aún hoy las oigo. Son estupenda las tres, las tres son preciosas, y sin duda, transmiten mucho de ese sentimiento que llamamos AMOR. Dicho esto, vamos a oírlas.

I listened to the three songs that I brought today to the point of exhaustion in those years, and I still listen to them today. All three are great, all three are beautiful, and without a doubt, they transmit a lot of that feeling that we call LOVE. That being said, let's hear them.

Mis canciones para este Musical Monday / My songs for this Musical Monday

Quién no recuerda el icónico video de la banda noruega A-HA de la canción TAKE ON ME? Esta canción la oí y ví por primera vez en una heladería, que tenía un televisor de esos ochenteros, a color, en donde la pasaban, y fue increíble. Me gustó mucho la música, pero más me gustó el video, creo que la animación hecha con un efecto de lápiz grafito, y el paso de una dimensión a otra mediante un espejo, fue clave para su éxito, y claro, lo pegajosa que es, es estupendo ritmo que tiene, es una melodía fresca, agradable, ligera, juvenil. Y si bien la letra no es para tirar cohetes, fue una canción que estuvo súper de moda en todos los lugares, y que también sirvió a muchos para enamorar. Aquí les comparto el video oficial.

Who doesn't remember the iconic video of the Norwegian band A-HA for the song TAKE ON ME? I heard and saw this song for the first time in an ice cream parlor, which had a color television from those eighties, where they showed it, and it was incredible. I really liked the music, but I liked the video more, I think that the animation made with a graphite pencil effect, and the passage from one dimension to another through a mirror, was key to its success, and of course, how catchy it is , it has a wonderful rhythm, it is a fresh, pleasant, light, youthful melody. And although the lyrics are nothing to write home about, it was a song that was super fashionable everywhere, and that also made many people fall in love. Here I share the official video.

La segunda canción que hoy quiero compartirles, es, al igual que la anterior, del año 1985, (creo que este año fue realmente especial, por la cantidad de buena música y películas que salió), y se trata de la bellísima “Slave to love”, del cantante británico Bryan Ferry. A esta canción le presté atención por primera vez, en 1989, cuando ví la película Nueve semanas y media, pues es parte de la banda sonora de esa película, y ME ENCANTÓ. Musicalmente es muy bella, y aún cuando es pop, es un pop como adulto, más complejo y sofisticado, con una riqueza musical interesante, hermosas segundas voces, y una buena letra. Aquí les dejo varios videos, el oficial, uno ambientado con la película “Nueve Semanas y Media” y una presentación en vivo de Bryan Ferry.

The second song that I want to share with you today is, like the previous one, from 1985, (I think this year was really special, because of the amount of good music and movies that came out), and it is about the beautiful “Slave to love”, by the British singer Bryan Ferry. I paid attention to this song for the first time, in 1989, when I saw the movie Nine ½ Weeks, because it is part of the soundtrack of that movie, and I LOVED it. Musically it is very beautiful, and even when it is pop, it is pop as an adult, more complex and sophisticated, with an interesting musical richness, beautiful second voices, and good lyrics. Y para cerrar mi Musical Monday de hoy, les he traído “Take my breath away” de la banda estadounidense BERLIN. Esta canción, del año 1986, fue la canción principal de la película TOP GUN, protagonizada por el entonces guapo, Tom Cruise. Es una canción realmente hermosa, a nivel musical y de letras, y sin duda con una carga emotiva bastante significative. Al igual que la anterior, esta canción la disfruté al ver la película TOP GUN, creo que en el año 1988. Aquí les dejo el video official de esta bella canción.

And to close my Musical Monday today, I have brought you “Take my breath away” by the American band BERLIN. This song, from 1986, was the main song of the movie TOP GUN, starring the then handsome Tom Cruise. It is a really beautiful song, musically and lyrically, and without a doubt with a quite significant emotional charge. Like the previous one, I enjoyed this song when watching the movie TOP GUN, I think in 1988. Here I leave you the official video of this beautiful song.
