Continuing my series of posts talking about something I understand little but really like, music. Today I'll be giving my opinion on the
seventhalbum by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication.
This album was released on June 8, 1999 with the return of guitarist Frusciante after 6 years away from the band, who had apparently overcome his drug problem and accepted the invitation to return.
With the return of Frusciante the band moved away from the hard rock and metal that were present in One Hot Minute. Now the funk-rock is presented with some elements in the songs being remarkable in Around the World.
I also noticed on this record the most well-crafted compositions and dealing with different themes Kiedis was very inspired.
In general, there's not much to criticize about the album, just fantastic. I was surprised that there were still some songs that I didn't know and they are just fantastic, Porcelain and Road Trippin. Perhaps the only song that would be left out of my playlist for this album would be Right on Time.
Favorite songs: Around The World, Scar Tissue, Otherside, Californication, I Like Dirt.

Este álbum foi lançado em lançado em 8 de Junho de 1999 com o retorno do guitarrista Frusciante após 6 anos afastado da banda, que aparentemente tinha superado seu problema com as drogas e aceitou o convite para retornar.
Com o retorno de Frusciante a banda afastou do hard rock e metal ques estavam presentes em One Hot Minute. Agora o funk-rock se apresentam com alguns elementos nas músicas sendo marcante em Around the World.
Percebi neste disco também as composições mais bem trabalhadas e tratando diversos temas Kiedis estava muito inspirado.
De modo geral não tem muito o que criticar o disco, simplesmente fantástico. Fiquei supreso que ainda tinha algumas múscias que eu não conhecia e elas são simplesmente fantásticas, Porcelain e Road Trippin. Talvez a única música que ficaria de fora da minha playlist desse álbum seria Right on Time.
