Hello everyone! Seeing the split of One Direction a few years ago meant the fall of one of the most relevant youth bands on the planet for my generation. At that moment the question that arose was: What would each of its members do? In my case, I simply dedicated myself to observe, that is to say, to see what would happen.
Something I never thought, is that my taste would vary, and would lean towards the very unpredictable music of Harry Styles. To be exact, he is one of the artists that I could describe as the most controversial nowadays, his music is wonderful, and at the same time, it is adapted to the stereotypes of the different current youth masses. Well, he himself is moldable and irreverent, apart from the fact that during his time with One Direction he emitted an excess of charisma.
At this point, I think that even too much charisma can be insufficient when it comes to connecting with fans, but I see Harry as one of those artists who seeks to touch the key points of youth with his songs. Currently, we are in an environment of irreverence, calmness, rationality and superficial discussions. Particularities that some can glimpse as a collective criticism that is explored in each of his songs permeating all young people from the most conservative to the most liberal. Ironic? No, it is not, rather it is extremely attractive.
Treat People With Kindness, with this song I undeniably feel like I am transported back to the 70's of the 20th century. The tonality of Harry's voice may be a bit overshadowed by the applause and the voices of those singing along with him, but what is really wonderful is the way you connect, you feel the fun of the era in an edge that moves the youth and teenagers of this century.
I listen to this song when I want to scream or have a lump in my throat, not that it's annoying, it's just an emotional mix, maybe of impossibilities, but the song reflects those feelings very well. Something I like is the part where he explains that we can fall into a place, but we can find one for ourselves that really values us. My biggest example for this would be indisputably: Hive, is that this is a place that understands us in fullness, that is, I found a place where I feel good.
One of the tunes that I think has the most artistic identity of Harry, is Falling, this song is one of my favorites, it reflects how everything is sinking, the nightmare of human emotions, and how everything can start to fill up with water in a room until you drown. Painful? Not at all. This is also art, and one that fits very well with what each of us can feel.
This song is one that I will always listen to, that part of the lyrics that makes you ask: what am I now? It's the one that fascinates me the most, what does it matter if I give up, what does it matter if I don't accept myself and what does the rest matter. Everyone can find their own way, if I'm drowning, if I'm lost and if I'm depressed I know I can turn to her.
Do you know why it has an identity? Simple, human beings are emotional people, today we are happy and other days it may not be so. When this happens we isolate ourselves, and it seems as if a torrent of water would soothe us, but we still find our way. That is why I listen to her.
