Three Tune Tuesday Week #132 - Santa Claus is Coming to Town [ENG/ESP]
We are just a couple of weeks away from celebrating Christmas, which many people, especially the youngest in the house, describe as "the best time of the year" for many different reasons.
In the Western world, particularly in Christianity, the Nativity or birth of Jesus is celebrated on this date. But beyond the religious beliefs of each person, or even, in the absence of these; Christmas is an ideal time for introspection and serene reflection, it is the time to take stock of the good and bad of the year that is about to end, in addition to making plans and planning projects for the next.
It is also the time for family reunion, to share, not only a table with food and drinks with our loved ones, but more importantly, the joy of living and the opportunity to thank, either the Universe, Destiny, Nature or a Higher Power, and why not, ourselves, for all the gifts and blessings we have received during the course of the year, before welcoming a new year, full of faith and hope for the future.
In this sense, I have selected for this week, a popular Christmas song interpreted by 3 different artists, each with their own vision and version.
Nos encontramos a un par de semanas de celebrar la Navidad, la que muchas personas, especialmente los más pequeños de la casa, describen como "la mejor época del año" por múltiples y diversas razones.
En el mundo occidental, particularmente en el cristianismo, en esta fecha se celebra la Natividad o el nacimiento de Jesús. Pero más allá de las creencias religiosas de cada persona, o incluso, a falta de estas; la Navidad es un tiempo idóneo para la introspección y la reflexión serena, es el momento de hacer un balance de lo bueno y de lo malo del año que está por finalizar, además de hacer planes y planificar proyectos para el próximo.
También es el tiempo para el reencuentro familiar, para compartir, no sólo una mesa con alimentos y bebidas junto a nuestros seres más queridos, sinó, más importante aún, la alegría de vivir y la oportunidad para agradecer, bien sea al Universo, al Destino, a la Naturaleza o a un Poder Superior, y porqué no, a nosotros mismos, por todos los dones y bendiciones que hemos recibido durante el transcurso del año, antes de dar la bienvenida a un nuevo año, cargados de fe y esperanza en el porvenir.

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town is a popular Christmas carol, created in 1932 by American composers John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie, and performed for the first time in November 1934, on the radio program of actor, comedian, singer and songwriter Eddie Cantor, a well-known figure on the radio spectrum during the 1930s and 1940s.
The song became an instant hit with orders for over 500,000 copies of sheet music and over 30,000 albums sold in just 24 hours.
This song has been covered by more than 200 artists worldwide, a number that increases year after year; including Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, the two best known versions, but also The Crystals, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Isaak, The Temptations, Michael Bublé, The Jackson 5, Justin Bieber and Mexican vocalist Luis Miguel, who recorded it in Spanish for his 2006 album "Navidades"; among many others.

Singer and guitarist Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performed a live version of this Christmas classic during their performance at the C. W. Post College in Brookville, New York, on December 12, 1975.
The song was later included in 1982 as part of the compilation album "Sesame Street In Harmony", and again in 1985 as the B-side of the single "My Hometown", from the American artist's seventh studio album, "Born in the U.S.A.".
Springsteen's version has been played for years on radio stations during the holiday season; appearing on Billboard magazine's Hot Singles Recurrents chart every year from 2002 to 2009.

The remembered American singer and actor of Italian origin, Frank Sinatra, included his own version of Santa Claus Is Coming to Town in his third studio album, released in 1948 under the title "Christmas Songs by Sinatra".
Later Sinatra, together with his children Frank Jr., Nancy and Tina Sinatra, re-recorded this song for his 1968 album, "The Sinatra Family Wish You a Merry Christmas", which also includes other Christmas songs.
