Three Tunes for the week.

Hello, it's three tunes day. C'mon, let's have a blast with this.

For the record, #ttt (Three Tunes Tuesday) is an ongoing initiative which is organized by @ablaze for all music lovers. Catch the full gist about that HERE.

I often try to make an entry to each week of Three Tunes Tuesday with songs that are selected based on some distinct themes. This week's selections are slightly different because they don't really have a theme that aligns with the message in each of the songs. Instead, these are songs that made it to the No. 1 hit in the year they were released. Haha.

Let's get into these tunes;

1. God's Plan by DRAKE.

This song has been doing the numbers since its release and this music video currently has 1.5B views on YouTube. That's Billions... Something that doesn't comes easily on any platform. Someone watched this music video and said "Finally a music video I could watch in front of my parents". And, that's genuinely worth thinking about.

The music videos of this era are filled with eyesores, cuss words, and unnecessary displays of nudity. It legit feels good to have a song gain so much popularity without having to use nudity as its selling look. The song itself is golden. Listen and enjoy.

2. Levitating by DUA LIPA.

This song managed to get into the number one spot for songs released in 2020 and I can't stop wondering just how much popularity this song would have gathered if there weren't so many lockdowns in 2020. Imagine this song getting buzzed in parties, clubs, and any other suitable social gathering. That would have surely drawn more eyes to the song.

Regardless of all that, this song still gained traction and it's even funny because I never imagined I would see a music video collab between Dua Lipa and DaBaby. The song gained epic popularity though and the music video has been raking in really good numbers.

3. Heat Waves by GLASS ANIMALS.

Talk about a song with a music video that's super simple and still very symbolic. Haha. That's a good way to describe the masterpiece highlighted in this music video. I'm not one to go nuts over the budget carved out for Music videos. However, I don't need any records to show that these folks never had to break the banks for this music video.

The video is cool and I'm one of those who finally got to check this song out after coming across the chorus as a soundtrack in YouTube shorts. Haha. The song hits the spot and I'm just glad we have a song like this out there. It's awesome.

That's it for this week's edition of Three Tunes Tuesday. Check out the songs and enjoy the brilliance in those.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
